2025 District 16 Middle School Champions - Harmony Hornets

ASHBURN, VA — Noah Bonnette put on a clinic at the plate Thursday evening, going 4-for-5 with a pair of doubles and two singles to lead the Harmony Middle School Hornets past the Willard Wildcats, 12–4, at Brambleton Community Park.

Bonnette set the tone early with a double in the first and never let up, adding another double in the second, a single in the third, and capping his night with a base hit in the seventh. The performance was part of a relentless offensive attack by Harmony, which piled up 16 hits and took control of the game with a five-run third inning.

The Hornets struck first in the top of the first when James Bodoh delivered a clutch two-run single. Willard responded quickly in the bottom half, tying the game at 2–2 behind a groundout from Kiki Thaivalappil and an RBI single from Jackson Pranschke.

Bonnette broke the deadlock in the second with a two-run double, giving Harmony a 4–2 edge. But once again, Willard clawed back, leveling the game at 4–4 behind a sac fly from Chase Ratliff and an RBI single from Brody Hernandez.

The game broke wide open in the third. Harmony erupted for five runs on five hits, headlined by a two-run single from Jack Serotkin. From there, the Hornets never looked back.

Bodoh got the start on the mound for Harmony, tossing four innings and allowing four runs (three earned) on seven hits. He kept the game within reach until reliever Kiptyn Carley took over and slammed the door. Carley was electric, striking out seven over three innings of one-hit, scoreless relief to seal the win.

Offensively, the Hornets were firing on all cylinders. Bonnette and Serotkin led the way with two RBIs each, while Peter Woodley, Bodoh, and Charlie Awenowicz all collected multiple hits. Harmony also showed patience at the plate, drawing six walks—two apiece from Serotkin and Colby Forer.

For Willard, Pranschke and Hernandez each recorded two hits, while Thaivalappil, Ratliff, Hernandez, and Pranschke each drove in one run. Michael Czekala took the loss, allowing seven runs (six earned) on seven hits over 2.1 innings, with three strikeouts and two walks.

With the win, Harmony MS Hornets flexed their depth and discipline, combining timely hitting, aggressive baserunning, and shutdown relief to earn a statement victory on the road.
