Chris Kerley gets the call

Upper Loudoun Little League's Chris Kerley was selected as one of the 10 umpires calling the Juniors Level World Series in Taylor, Michigan this year. Kerley has had a long and distinguished career umpiring in Loudoun County and has made some high profile tournaments including the Southeast Regional and the Virginia State locations at various levels.

"From what other umpires have told me, this is the best tournament of the World Series for pure enjoyment but of course the goal is always Williamsport", Kerley said as he briefed the ULLL Board of Directors on his experience in Taylor. From attending a Detroit Tigers game where the umpiring crew was able to go on the field on the first day in town until the Championship game, Chris represented himself and Upper Loudoun Little League with class and respect.

The tournament included teams from across the globe from China, Mexico, Canada, and Australia with the international winner facing off against the winner of the US bracket the host team from Michigan. The team from Taoyuan City Junior Little League in Chinese Taipei topped the hosts by a score of 5-0 to win the Championship.
