Blue Ridge MS ULLL got on the board in the second inning plating 3 runs to jump out to an early lead in Monday’s game against their cross town rivals from Harmony MS ULLL. Anthony Bogdan got the nod for Harmony MS ULLL to start the game off going 2 innings while giving up 3 runs on 3 hits and striking out 1. Blue Ridge MS ULLL offense hit their stride with consistent hitting including a triple from Holden Colio to end the night for Bogdan after 2 innings.
Harmony MS ULLL chipped away at the lead scoring a run in the 4th and 5th innings to pull within 3-2 after 5 innings. Lefty ace, Cole Schaaf got the start for Harmony MS ULLL surrendering just 2 runs on two hits while going 4 2/3 innings striking out six.
In the sixth inning, Blue Ridge MS ULLL bats came woke from the middle inning lull to score 3 runs, taking advantage of a mindset that saw hitters get on base any way they could resulting in runs scoring on a pair of groundouts by Schaaf and Aiden Payne and a double by big John Carroll. After a quiet bottom of the sixth, Blue Ridge MS ULLL plated 2 more in the top of the seventh and took the field with a commanding 8-2 lead.
Refusing to go quietly into the night, Harmony MS ULLL scored three runs in the seventh inning on singles by Anthony Bogdan and Quincy Lucas and a groundout by Thomas Lyons. Unfortunately that was all Harmony MS ULLL could push across and the exciting last inning came to a close allowing Blue Ridge MS ULLL to hold on for the 8-5 victory.
For Harmony MS ULLL, Bogdan was followed out of the bullpen by Walker Kennedy, Colby Lane, Lucas, and Lyons. Defense was spectacular and efficient committing no errors in the contest for Harmony MS ULLL.
Blue Ridge MS ULLL had 12 hits in the game.  Colio and Carroll all had multiple hits for Blue Ridge MS ULLL.  Colio went 4-for-5 at the plate to lead Blue Ridge MS ULLL.
